Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Big Aus (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects when you visit or use bigaus.com (the “Site”), how we use that information, and your rights under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Information we collect

• Information you provide directly. When you subscribe to updates, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, and the time of submission. We do not require or ask for any additional personal information.
• Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we record standard request metadata — your browser type and version (user-agent string), the referring website (if any), and the page you requested. We do not use cookies or device fingerprinting for tracking on our own pages.
• Information from analytics providers. We use privacy-focused analytics (Vercel Analytics) to understand aggregate site usage. These analytics do not use cookies and do not track individual users across sessions.

How we use your information

• Send a one-time welcome email confirming your subscription
• Send occasional Big Aus updates (rebate changes, new tools, guides)
• Monitor site performance and debug errors
• Respond to enquiries you send us

We will not sell your email address or share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Service providers we use

To operate the Site, we share limited data with the following service providers. Some are located outside Australia; by using the Site you consent to your data being processed in those jurisdictions.

• Vercel — hosts the Site and provides aggregate analytics (United States).
• Supabase — stores our subscriber database, including your email and signup metadata (United States).
• Resend — delivers transactional and update emails (United States, with delivery servers in the Asia-Pacific region).
• Cloudflare — provides DNS, CDN and basic security services. Cloudflare may log standard request metadata.

Your rights and choices

Under the Australian Privacy Principles you have the right to:

• Unsubscribe. Every email we send includes an unsubscribe link.
• Access your data. Email hello@bigaus.comand we'll send you a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct your data. Email the same address to request a correction if anything we hold is inaccurate.
• Request deletion. Email us and we will delete your record from our database within 30 days, unless we are required to retain it for legal reasons.
• Complain to the regulator. If you believe we have breached the Privacy Act, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for adult users. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Affiliate and referral links

Pages on the Site may contain referral links to third-party installers and retailers — see our Affiliate Disclosure and How We Make Moneypages. When you click a referral link and visit the destination site, that site may set its own cookies to track the referral for commission attribution. We do not control or access those cookies. Your activity on the third-party site is governed by that site's own privacy policy.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
